Duck down for the perfect breakfast or lunch meal from one of the many stalls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From fresh smoothies, chicken, crepes, and of course coconuts! Feel free to also grab some souvenirs here with stalls selling everything from flower crowns to sarongs, and wooden carvings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are craving some homemade goodies this is the place to be as the local community sets up amazing homemade cakes and pastries fresh out of the oven! Spend the morning trying a little bit of everything and relaxing under the beautiful Rarotongan sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening Hours:<\/strong> Saturdays, 8 am until 2 pm. <em>It also has a few permanent food stands that are open throughout the week, not just during market hours. We were simply on the hunt for good coffee and stumbled upon a little coffee cart offering some of the best drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hidden away from the popular touristy parts of Rarotonga is this coffee shack tucked in on the side of the road. Considering its location they have a decent seating area and even a few umbrellas so you can hide in the shade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drinks here are as good as you&#8217;ll find anywhere in the world. Seriously it could rival the coffee scene in New Zealand or Australia. I know I am building it up a lot, but we have done the 20-minute drive there from our accommodation on multiple trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ladies who run Love Cafe are so nice and friendly! Of course, there is always a resident chicken roaming around in typical Rarotongan fashion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also have some fresh baked goods options as well as delicious toasted sandwiches. They have a delicious breakfast and lunch menu as well as an excellent seating area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you visit here for any meal make it breakfast in Rarotonga. They have some excellent chefs working and everything is cooked to perfection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also a few vegetarian options that are more exciting than the generic eggs on toast offered at a lot of other places. My go-to order was a pumpkin hummus on toast with halloumi and a grilled tomato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening Hours:<\/strong> Thursday to Sunday 8.00 am until 2 pm, closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Some days of the week they also host live music so make sure to check out the sign on the road to see what is happening during your visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This spot is certainly a Rarotongan icon and definitely one of those &#8216;must visit&#8217; spots. Nevertheless, they serve up a delicious meal with a funky vibe (you&#8217;ll understand when you see the placemats).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only thing is that during my visits the drinks have always come out after the food and as some who eats out probably more than they should, this is one of the basics they need to get right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their menu is extensive and the staff is helpful. There is an extensive drinks list with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails which is a real bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just be aware at Captain Andy&#8217;s Bar &amp; Grill they do not offer table service. The restaurant was good, even though the breakfast was a bit average since it is only continental and not a buffet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it&#8217;s good to set your standards before arriving. One thing that surprised me is the 5-star resorts and hotels here are actually quite dated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think those questionable floral pints from the 70&#8217;s though this is also just the general atheistic of the island. But I guess, this is an island in the middle of the Pacific with limited resources, and we are in paradise, so who cares about the room decor?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, I have always found rooms to be clean and service for the staff absolutely amazing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one exception may have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rarotongabackpackers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the hostel I stayed in <\/a>while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backpackerswanderlust.com\/backpacking-rarotonga-on-a-budget\/\">backpacking Rarotonga<\/a>.
